Welcome to the health insurance consumer assistance program for residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. We are here to help you find health insurance and apply for assistance to lower the cost of your health care plan. Our friendly, accessible staff is available to answer questions and guide you through the application process.
You can shop, compare and select health care plans via Maryland's health insurance marketplace, Maryland Health Connection.

*Lower Shore Health Insurance Connector Program is administered by the Worcester County Health Department and serves residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. The program is funded by a grant from the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.

Important Dates To Remember
Open enrollment begins on November 15, 2014 and ends on February 15, 2015 for individuals and families.
The Maryland Health Connection website will become available for anonymous health plan browsing on November 9, 2014. This will allow you to compare plans without entering any personal information.
If you have a 2014 health insurance plan through Maryland Health Connection, you will need to re-enroll for 2015 coverage between November 15, 2014 and December 18, 2014 to avoid a gap in coverage and receive tax subsidies to lower the costs.
Featured Upcoming Events:
Tri-County Health Fair - 10 a.m. - noon, Saturday, November 15 at the One Stop Job Market, Salisbury, MD. This event will feature outreach and informational booths from health care resources of the tri-county area. A computer lab will be open for the public to preview MarylandHealthConnection.gov and anonymously browse new health plans offered for 2015. Presentations about the Affordable Care Act and Maryland Health Connection will occur at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.
