Welcome to the health insurance consumer assistance program for residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties. We are here to help you find health insurance and apply for assistance to lower the cost of your health care plan. Our friendly, accessible staff is available to answer questions and guide you through the application process.


You can shop, compare and select health care plans via Maryland's health insurance marketplace, Maryland Health Connection.

*Lower Shore Health Insurance Connector Program is administered by the Worcester County Health Department and serves residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester countiesThe program is funded by a grant from the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.


We take appointments at various locations in all three counties. To talk to or meet with our certified staff, call 855-445-5540. Salisbury residents may walk in to the Department of Social Services at 201 Baptist St. 8a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday for assistance. We also provide service at the following locations on a regular basis: 
  • Worcester Department of Social Services
  • Somerset Department of Social Services
  • One Stop Job Market Tuesdays - Thursdays
  • Snow Hill Health Department, 6040 Public Landing Rd. Snow Hill, MD 21863
  • Berlin Health Center, 9730 Healthway Drive, Berlin, MD 21811

Important Dates To Remember

Open enrollment for private health plans is now closed. You may be eligible for a special enrollment period if you've experienced a qualifying life change event in the past 60 days. 

Enrollment for Medicaid is open year-round.
